Goldstein community organisations are encouraged to apply for funding available under the 2010 Volunteer Grants program. Applications close at 2pm on Friday 16 April 2010.
Funding between $1,000 and $5,000 is available to purchase equipment, cover the cost of petrol, provide training courses, or undertake background checks.
“Since 2001, community organisations in Goldstein have taken advantage of funding designed to support their services.
“I strongly encourage all community organisations to do so again in 2010,” Andrew Robb, Federal Member for Goldstein, said.
Funding has previously been used to purchase items such as computers, printers, first aid kits, gardening equipment, microwaves, and barbeques.
“For those who are seeking to apply I am happy to provide my support and assistance, so please contact me at my office on 9557 4644,” Mr Robb said.
Further information on the 2010 Volunteer Grants program and an online application form can be found at http://fahcsia.gov.au/sa/volunteers/funding/Pages/volunteer_grants2010.aspx.
Organisations can also request paper-based application forms by calling 1800 183 374 or be emailing vg2010@fahcsia.gov.au.
