The Australian Government is honouring excellence in aged care by recognising the exceptional work of the people who work in aged care through the Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Aged Care 2005.
The awards will recognise and award the hard work, dedication and skill of the people who care for our older citizens.
The judging panel will consist of Ita Buttrose, author and former media executive, Rosemary Stanton high profile nutritionist and Rob Knowles, the Aged Care Commissioner.
“I urge people in the aged care sector to nominate people or organisations that are delivering excellent services to our elderly citizens” said Andrew Robb.
“It is so important that we acknowledge those who’s hard work and dedication makes the lives of our older Australian’s better.”
There will be six categories and winners will receive money to pursue further training opportunities to enhance their skills.
Nominations close on 6 May 2005 and will be announced in a special National Day of Recognition to be held in October.
