Goldstein Media Releases, Community, Funding
Andrew Robb today welcomed an increase of funding to Home and Community Care Programs in Goldstein.
The Southern Metropolitan region received a boost of $4.3million in funding with Goldstein picking up $121,500 in additional funding.
In total Goldstein now receives over $1.8 million in funding for Home and Community Care programs.
7 programs have received the boost in funding to ensure that these services can continue and expand in the Bayside region.
“Home and Community Care places allow frail aged people and young people with disabilities to remain in their own homes with the support of their family” Andrew Robb MP said.
“I understand the immeasurable benefits of allowing people to remain in their own homes, they retain their independence and remain in the communities that they are familiar and happy with. I am very pleased that Goldstein has received the increase in funding.”
The Home and Community Care Program is a central element of the Federal Government’s aged care policy. Nationally the Australian Government’s allocation for Home and Community Care is $791, 858 million, an increase of 8.12% from 2003-2005.
