Funding boost for Abberfield aged care facility

Andrew Robb AO MP is pleased to announce a funding boost of $250,000 for the Abberfield Aged Care Facility.

The Abberfield Aged Care Facility has been awarded the funds under the Investing in Australia’s Aged Care: More Places, Better Care package which consists of a boost of 6 new residential high care places for the facility which translates to a funding increase of $250,000.

For 2004 – 2005 the Australian Government has made available nationally over 13,000 new aged care places worth in excess of $369 million, as well as more than $40 million in capital grants to the aged care sector.

This means that since 1996 the Government has made available more than 68,6000 new aged are places compared with the 10,000 bed shortage left by Labor in 1996.

“I am very pleased to announce a further funding boost to aged care in Goldstein” Andrew Robb said, “Since my election in October 2004 I have had the pleasure of welcoming well over $1 million worth of increases to funding for the aged care sector in Goldstein.”

“I congratulate the hard working and dedicated staff of Abberfield Aged Care Facility, and am pleased that this funding will allow them to continue the important work.”
