The Government’s Natural Heritage Trust and Cadbury® Yowie® are joining forces again in 2005 to help educate Australia’s young people about threatened species.
By registering for the free Hands on for the Habitat Teacher’s Resource Kit and entering the Hands on for Habitat Awards, Australian school children can learn about our plants and animals and the habitats they live in and more importantly the threats those habitats face and what students can do to help.
Schools go in the running to receive great prizes totalling over $5,000.
“Over 4300 primary school children from around Australia entered last year’s awards. I look forward to seeing some bayside schools on the winners list this year” said Andrew Robb, the Federal Member for Goldstein.
All primary schools in bayside area have received a letter advising them of the program and an entry form to the competition.
“I encourage all schools and children to get involved in this program which teaches children about our unique and special environment in a fun way”.
