Elanora Aged Care Facility in Brighton will receive a grant of $1,639 from the Australian Government to build a flag pole for residents to fly the Australian flag.

The Member for Goldstein, Andrew Robb MP, said the grant had been approved by the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Bruce Billson, as part of the Australian Government’s commemorations program, Saluting Their Service.

“Saluting Their Service encourages community participation in commemorative activities honouring the service and sacrifice of those who have served Australia in wars, conflicts and peace operations,” Andrew Robb said.

“This grant will go towards installing a flag pole so the Elanora residents can fly the Australian flag to commemorate our history and those who have served our country,

“I congratulate the staff at Elanora for taking the initiative to apply for this grant. The application process is very competitive but the Australian Government is always keen to support Australians to fly the Australian flag,” Andrew Robb said.
