This federal election is about the future of every Australian. It is about who is best placed to lay the foundations for another 20 years of prosperity and continual improvement in our quality of life.
This election is about who is best placed to ensure that Australia tackles the big challenges of the future from a position of strength, a position of economic strength.
This election is about who is best placed to ensure that every Australian is strong enough financially to deal with the future – to have the ability to pay the mortgage, to put in a water tank, to choose where to send their kids to school, to access the best health care, to retire with dignity and peace of mind.
This election is about the leadership Australia needs right now to stay strong, prosperous and secure.
By working together as a community, and through the tough decisions of the Coalition, we have made many gains over the last decade. Now we must make Australia and our Bayside community even stronger.
This election involves a clear choice – a choice between a Government with a proven track record on the economy and national security, and a bold set of plans for the future, or a Labor Opposition who if elected would be the most inexperienced and union driven in Australia’s history. More than 70% of the Labor front bench are former trade union bosses.
The Coalition has a strong plan for the future; firstly a goal of full employment. Australia’s unemployment rate today is at a 33-year low. It can go even lower with the right policies.
If Labor is elected, its anti-small business policies mean unemployment will rise.
Since 1996, the unemployment rate in Goldstein has been more than halved from 6.2% to 2.9% today.
Over the coming weeks the Coalition will outline bold policies to lift family living standards and to help sections of our local community that are under pressure. The plan for stronger communities will deliver better services, more choice and genuine help for those in the Bayside area in need. The Government has started with its plan to cut personal income taxes by $34 billion over the next three years.
In the weeks ahead, the Coalition will also outline bold plans to further reinforce Australia’s national security into the next decade. Our environment policies will tackle in a balanced way the great challenges of climate change and water security.
Wall-to-wall Labor − at a national and state level – would mean no checks and balances. In a volatile and uncertain world we can’t afford the risk of a Labor government.
