Bayside residents can save money and water through the $250 million National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative. Rebates of up to $500 are available for the purchase of a rainwater tank or a greywater system.
“For a long time now, Bayside has been committed to saving water. I am positive local residents will again take advantage of this program and continue to take personal responsibility for conserving our water supplies,” Andrew Robb, Federal Member for Goldstein, said.
Rebates are available for:
• The purchase and installation of a new rainwater tank which is connected for internal use of the water for toilet and/or laundry use.
• The purchase and installation of a permanent greywater treatment system.
A $400 rebate is available for a 2,000 – 3,999 litre tank and a $500 rebate is available for a tank greater than 4,000 litres. A $500 rebate is available for a permanent greywater treatment system.
“Through the previous Coalition Government’s Community Water Grants initiative, Bayside community groups shared in nearly $1.5 million worth of grants, saving the community over 20 million litres of water each year.
“It is clear Bayside residents are committed to better water use through practical innovative projects, but we still have long way to go,” Mr Robb said.
